I really enjoyed this book. I’ve never previously read any of Ann Patchett’s work, but I can see that I will be seeking out her other books after this.
I enjoyed the setting of the Amazonian jungle - and I’ve only just googled it to see exactly where it is on a map - absolutely MILES from anywhere! There was some good description of Manaus and the jungle after leaving Manaus, but without overdoing it. I could feel the heavy and oppressive atmosphere.

I had started this book once and given up on it but i can't really tell you why. A scientific study in remote jungle / rainforest and a researcher who does not want to publish her results. Others are sent i after her to find out the state of play - when one dies it become more important to find out what is going on. There is a lot about human relationships and pipe dreams int his but the whole is well worth reading
