It was 2000 when I first read Harry Potter. My friend Super Suz recommended the series to me but I put off reading it for ages. I wasn’t into reading much young adult stuff back then and my argument for not reading them was that I wasn’t interested in reading children’s book. How book-snobbish of me.

It was around the time the first film was coming out and I was hearing a lot about the controversy that was being stirred up over witchcraft and censorship. Censorship and banning books is one of my

This is the last Harry Potter book that was fairly well written. There was a little too much teenage angst that seemed unnecessary and out of place but overall a good book.

Another good installment in this series! For me, it's always interesting, having read these books after viewing the movies, to see how they have been edited down. While the books are good, I admit to being impressed with the movie versions. The screenwriters have done an incredible job condensing while keeping the essential parts of the story and editing out bits the books could easily have done without (such as the Poltergeist, Peeves). ...more

Another good read. Did get a bit bored halfway through, probably because of the size of the book but as the story unfolded towards the end my reading speed picked up and I really enjoyed it. More bits that i dont believe are in the film which is always nice to discover.
