Just finished reading the Diary of a Young Girl and I don't have words to express what I'm feeling right now.
I'm in awe of a 14 year old girl, who had way more emotional quotient than many adults I've seen including myself.
I was so surprised at the way Anne analyzes her innermost feelings and thoughts and contradictions.
She touches on so many topics and was so wise for her age. I love her love for nature, how she questions patriarchy, specially the bit about mothers being more brave than soldier ...more

Originally published in 1947, The Diary of a Young Girl is just as timely today as it was in the wake of the Second World War. Each time I read this book, it's like a dagger to my heart & spirit. It's important, though, that we continue to revisit the literature of this time period & that we never forget about such atrocities.
