What Members Thought
My favorite of the series so far, I could feel the freezing cold temperatures, and the tension was palpable as Bradecote and Catchpoll played cat and mouse in the freezing winter countryside, trying to catch up with a psychopath and his gang of thugs holding hostages-monks, led by their abbot, an important church representative, and Lord Bradecote’s fiancée.

An excellent historical mystery, engrossing and entertaining.
The plot is complex and flows, the historical background is vivid and realisti, the cast of characters well thought and interesting.
The mystery is solid and it kept me guessing.
It's the first book I read in this series and won't surely be the last. It can be read as a standalone.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine. ...more
