What Members Thought

The characters and the setting are the highlights of this series in my opinion. Almost a police procedural with the emphasis on their investigation. I had a couple of problems with the plot but found it a good read.

I loved "The Zig Zag Girl" and was ready to devour the rest of the series, in addition to trying the author's second series. However, I didn't enjoy this book at all. This was good but not as good as the first book in the series. Two children are missing and then found murdered in a ditch filled with candy. Edgar Stephens is the DI called in to investigate and he soon discovers that the children were putting on a pantomime when they disappeared. Max is appearing in a local pantomime himself and gives Edgar advice and expertise along the way to finding the murderer and to prevent another murder along the way.
