This time, the new father is in pursuit of a serial killer who strikes during public holidays and games, abducting and butchering young women and disposing of their body parts in the Roman aqueducts. Falco and his new business partner and old friend Petronius are standing near a clogged public fountain when a worker unclogs it - and out pops a severed hand.
