What Members Thought
I had a sneaky feeling all the way through this story (which contains all the elements of a classic golden age detective mystery, the country house complete with secret room, the group of people invited for a house party, a bit of romance and a rich elderly relative) that I was being led up the garden path. Clues were dropped so often they littered the floor, but which ones should I take seriously. It also had the slight flavour of a farce at times which made me wonder if it was all an elaborate

At times this seemed more like a Golden Age spoof than one written during the time period. Reminiscent of the author's The Poisoned Chocolates Case with all the tentative solutions.
