Reading this usually excellent series with the Reading the Detectives group. This book was a disappointment, though.

The story opens with (view spoiler) The author often addresses social issues, and this time, the character vandalizing the agency is enraged that it arranges sex tours to Thailand and the Philippines so “grown men can rape children” at brot

This is the eighth book in the Brunetti series and it is a bit of an odd one to review. Although I enjoyed this instalment in the series, it has some weaknesses that I felt meant that I had to lower the rating.

For the Lackberg-Leon LibraryThing Group Read. I‘m enjoying this mystery series. This one focuses on Guido and Paola‘s relationship and basic philosophical differences about justice. Paola deliberately gets arrested for what she feels is a good cause and Commissario Guido must deal with the consequences to his career. Easy, quick and enjoyable read.

Fantastic. The fact its set in venice is a massive bonus but excellent writing. Kinda amazed with all the time the police spend at lunch or popping for a glass of wine they solve any crimes but solve them Brunetti does 😀
