Shelves: mystery-murder-crime-20th-century

I've heard a lot about Leon's books & they are set in one of my favourite places in the world (Italy) & mostly in one of my favourite cities (Venice) Leon not wanting her books translated into Italian (why???)made me a little uneasy, but I thought I would give this one a go.

&, in spite of a few quibbles, overall I'm glad I did. This story at first appeared very slight & was much embellished by Leon's side journeys into food or family life. This did remind me of the late Sue Grafton & hopefully w ...more

I love this series, and this may be my favorite yet (this the extra star!). A very interesting plot, with a couple of hints to the solution. There is satisfying family time, the admin gets to parade her capabilities, and, of course, a few digs at his pompous boss. I am glad there are so many more books.
