Loved this second book in the Shardlake series. I can see that this is a series I am going to enormously enjoy but I will have to space the books out as my inclination is to read them all one after the other and I don't want the series to end. Murder & political intrigue were engrossing topics in this book. Would highly recommend.

Shardlake makes a fine investigator and in this book he pairs with a complementary partner, adding brawn to Shardlake's brains. The two different problems, one forced on him by Cromwell and the other by friendship, are both riveting and the time pressure is well done.

Continuing my reading of the Shardlake series, this is book number 2. As enjoyable as the first and a good insight into Tudor London. Taking a break from the series to read Bring Up the Bodies which will also document, as this book did, the demise of Thomas Cromwell.
