I really am enjoying these Maigret stories. This one starts with a shooting of a man who has had too much to drink, and on leaving the café where he has been drinking, decides to smoke a cigar. To remove himself from the blowing wind he steps inside the front of an empty building. Here, he is shot and thought to have been murdered.
