I found An Excellent Mystery an excellent entry in the Cadfael series. Just a bit different from the others and I'm willing to overlook that Cadfael's role is more limited than usual.

Another good journey back to 12th century Briton, and this book did have a lot of journeying going on. The fight for the throne between Stephen and Maud continues, and the city of Winchester has been under siege, destroying the abbey there.
