I only heard of this authoress last week when I read a review of her latest (20+) in a whodunnit series with DI Sloan and his Watson-like sidekick, Det. Sergeant Crosby. How did I miss her?

This is the second book, from 1968. Well, and sparingly, written, the DI’s methodical and calm approach to the case, and the large amount of dialogue between the DI and his colleagues, high and low, makes it show some elements of a police procedural, but it is more like a Golden Age whodunnit in its plotting a ...more
