Aird's trademark dry wit and fine sense of irony are evident even in her first book, The Religious Body. Inspector Sloan, aided only slightly by the slow-witted Crosby, must figure out who killed a nun in her convent - before the killer strikes again. Full review to come.

Enjoyable cozy mystery with a touch of dry humor. I've ordered the next in the series (in print; audio not available in my library) in anticipation of entry #3 being voted a group read for April.

2024 re-read. Full of witty dialogue. Who cars ‘whodunnit’, it’s the writing that is so good!
Having recently discovered this author when reading the review of her twenty-fifth whodunnit, and having read the two 'best' ones, I have turned to the first in the series, and it was a terrific read as well. A delight.
This one's environment was a nunnery, and we learn much about the day-to-day life, people, and routine, of the institution, as Sloan and his not too bright DC investigate a nun's death. Wa ...more
