Somewhat absurd

This started out a bit verbose and wandering but then became a little interesting. Bobby does well in puzzling through this somewhat farcical mystery.

Probably not really a 4 star book but the best Bobby Owen yet with lots of suspects, many mysterious clues and a final car chase ending in Stonehenge.

This was a pretty complicated plot. It starts with a missing diamond necklace, but quickly moves to the murder of the person who reported the loss of the said necklace. This murder having been committed at the house of a man known to deal in stolen items, whilst the police are actually outside the property. From here the likely suspects mount up. There are the associates of the receiver of the stolen goods, the business partners of the dead man, and many more, including a Duke and Duchess. Bobby ...more

Another solid instalment in the Bobby Owen series. An expensive diamond necklace goes missing and the police suspect one of London's brightest and best dealers in stolen items. A murder is committed and the list of suspects is long and interesting. There's a classic car chase involving a furniture van all over the countryside to enjoy. Highly recommend this series. ...more
