I decided to give this series a final chance, but really found this book lacking in structure. The mystery itself lacked motivation and credibility and didn't actually begin until quite late in the book, after the author spent considerable time instead updating us on what happened in previous books-- giving,for example, extensive description to each of Daphne's suitors, who hardly figured into the plot at all. Excellent! I listened to the book on tape, and I swear when I talk about the book, I try to emulate the reader. She's fantastic! The book was especially fun. Looking forward to the next one!

An extra star for that heartbreaking scene when Captain de Luce rediscovered his and Harriet’s Romeo and Juliet book. Sigh....
