I have not read any of the other books in the series, but it was the only book set at Christmas that my library had that seemed interesting. Luckily, it wasn't too bad of a book to start out with, even though they do keep mentioning stuff that happened in the earlier books.

It did provide the Christmas atmosphere that I was looking for. I loved the subplot that had Flavia trying to trap Father Christmas. The setting was definitely my favorite thing about this book.

Somehow missed this when I was reading the series. Always a joy to spend time with Flavia. Very much looking forward to the next book in the series after such a long gap.

Another great adventure for our eleven year old Flavia. Set at Christmas time, Flavia is determined to find out if there really is a Father Christmas, as she has been told by her older sisters that it is all a myth.
