I enjoyed reading this episode in the Bobby Owen series, but was a bit surprised to find he did not appear to be the main policeman in this procedural story. While there too many coincidental interrelationships among the suspects to be believable, their intertwined lives made an interesting plot. Bobby Owen is still an inspector in training and misses clues. The lead role goes to his boss, Mitchell, whom I quite like. Bobby does outshine his two immediate superiors; they may have been promoted above their abilities. Looking at the number of books in the series, Bobby has plenty of time to hone his skills.
