I am a huge fan of Midsomer Murders and I have enjoyed watching those episodes. So it is no surprise that reading these books by Caroline Graham has been on my to-do list for a while. This is the first book of the series, of which there are only seven books! The Killings at Badger's Drift is also the first episode of the show. So it's easy to compare. I preferred the show!

A very enjoyable easy to read book. Plenty of awful inhabitants of Badger's Drift to be suspects. And the rather fantastic character of Miss Bellringer. ...more

Shelves: mystery-series
Great first book in a series on which the Midsomer Murders TV series was based. I must look that up and give it a try-I very much liked the style and characters in this enjoyable book.

First time reading a Midsomer Murders book and I'm giving it 1.5 stars and wish I hadn't read it! The crimes were gross as were the over the top caricatures including Barnaby and Troy. I don't know if it was supposed to be humourous but I found the whole book depressing and distasteful. Sordid. ...more
