Back with a couple of old friends! I may not remember which of the Nero Wolfe mysteries I read *mumble* around thirty five years ago, but I remember Archie's cheeky insouciance and Nero's eccentricities. There is real affection in their relationship;

I found it refreshing to read a first-in a-series mystery that didn't use my time introducing the characters or telling of the events that either create the amateur detective or describe the awkward detective on the first case after a promotion. I still read those with glee. This one, instead, brings us characters who already a past with successes and failures in solving crimes, but also already having a reputation and routine. Shelves: mysteries
My first book by Rex Stout. I liked the story, specially the main characters (Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin). The irony and wisdom of Nero Wolfe combines with the promptness and intelligence of Goodwin. The art of solving a crime puzzle was performed.
