So great to have Winston Graham, and the Poldarks, return to their earlier usual form, after a so-so turn in Stranger From the Sea! This book is a gem from start to finish, and I can't wait to start the next one. From the surprising news of another little Poldark to Jeremy's daring involvement in a burglary, this book is one great scene after another.

Loved it! (Spoilers may abound)
I loved that this one had more family and less war, George, and parliament political stuff. Oh and this one had a great Ross and demelza story/event that I did NOT see coming but it was lovely!
There was a lot that annoyed me, mostly with clowance and Stephen but was glad to see her call it off. But poor Ben! Ugh. I really had a hard time liking clowance and her "oh you want to cheat on me? Ok! Love you!" Ways where Stephen was concerned. Don't get me wrong though, ...more
