While I enjoyed the book and it was an interesting read, it was much longer than it needed to be. In addition there were several tangents/red herrings that had been taken/thrown out but never resolved that it left me a bit frustrated at the end. The end was not as satisfying as it could - and should - have been but that has to remain unsaid as it would be a major spoiler...

Overall, because the story was interesting, kept me guessing throughout and was generally well written, I liked the read.

The second in the King & Maxwell series was a great followup to Split Second. Sean & Michelle are private investigators now and so far so good. Suddenly there appears to be a serial killer in their small town and there's no clues. This starts a wild ride that had me stumped for quite a long while. I do think it got a little long and there were a few things that were left hanging which I don't love.
