[close] I felt really felt sorry for Agnes...but in 1829 justice wasn't what it is today. I liked that each chapter had a small part of the a witness's testimony or correspondence. it helped to understand what each character was feeling. The book was well worth the time to read but you could see the miserable lives that all of the characters had at that time...even the one's that weren't awaiting execution. Being thrown out in an Icelandic winter to die for the smallest offense or imagined offense... must have been horrible. It was a beautifully written, compelling and moving story...especially from Agnes's point of view..
