Finally! The Cassandra Clare that I know and love seems to be back in City of Ashes.
It sort of picks up where we were left off at the end of the first book. Clary and Simon and seemingly in a loveless relationship, and she is trying to avoid Jace. Her mother is still asleep and Valentine is hiding out somewhere.
This book was so much better than its predecessor! I have to say the writing tremendously improved. The starting was a bit rough and it took me some time to get into the story, but after ...more

The beginning was a little slow compared to the first book but once it picked up a little I couldn't put it down! I read about 100 pages a day, and spent the entire day on April 23rd reading until I finished it. It was awesome!
