I was absolutely astounded when it was uncovered that Jace and Clary were siblings. I was shocked and perhaps even a little miffed after the discovery. So, is it wierd to read the first two books of a trilogy and not be able to work up the motivation to read the 3rd. It's just... I really don't care what happens to them all. They go round and round in circles. I don't think by the end of Ashes any of the characters had actually advanced from the beginning. They just swapped places.

I think City of Ashes still carried forward the exciting and epic grip that an adventure book needs to keep a good flow and to keep you entertained. After the GREAT disappointment of City of Bones with the whole brother/sister incest thing that dented and sank the Jace/Clary loveships we all held in our hearts, into the Brooklyn river.
