Last night, I was sitting at home with nothing to read when miraculously, I received a copy of City of Bones (and the other two novels in the series) in my gmail account. How had I not come across or heard of this book before? The book was so amazing. It follows the story of Clary, who believes herself to be an ordinary teenage girl, when she starts to see people and things that nobody else can see. How had I not come across or heard of this book before? The book was so amazing. It follows the story of Clary, who believes herself to be an ordinary teenage girl, when she starts to see people and things that nobody else can see. As the world around her starts to crumble and her mother goes missing, she finds herself in the middle of a world she never knew existed. A world where demons, vampires, werewolves, faeries and the supernatural exists.

I loved this book. I especially loved the characters. Clary was an awesome protagonist; smart, stubborn and sarcastic what else could you want? I also love Jace (sorry Clary), Clary's main love interest. Jace is a Shadowhunter ( a person who hunts demons and the like) who is very physically fortunate and a very talented Shadowhunter. On the other side of the coin there is Simon; Clary's human, best friend. Simon has also got it bad for Clary, though Clary is completely oblivious to this fact. This love trainage added to the already mysterious, unique and exciting plot, however I had to say that I was completely won over by Jace and was insistent almost to the point of hysteria the he and Clary end up together.

There is so much I could say about this book. But, if I did so, it would completely ruin the plot for you people who haven't read it yet. As mentioned before, I hate not knowing what it going to happen. Therefore it will not surprise you that, one hundred pages in to the book, the plot had grasped me so tightly, that I could not stop myself from googling the summary and finding out what happened in the end of the novel. I must admit that once again I that the need to slam the novel against the wall, when I uncovered a particular nasty twist that Clare had schemed up. I'm trying my hardest to not implode and completely spill everything about City of Bones to you, but I was so shocked and horrified with this particular twist that I feel the need to warn you; don't worry that aren't related. For those of you who haven't read the book 'they' will remain a mystery until you read and find out; which I implore you to do immediately. I also feel the need to admit that I finished all three hundred and eighteen pages of City of Bones that night..... as well as City of Ashes and City of Bones (the other books in the series) the following day. ...more

What words would I use to describe it?
Sexy, seductive, hilarious, intense, fast-paced, adorable, dark, mysterious, addictive, beautiful, artistic.

This book really is a great YA fiction, urban/fantasy read. The characters are very easy to relate to and the story reads succinctly with great fluidity. Normally I can't bring myself to read a book more than once. If I try and read something again my little reading voice in my head goes, "yeah but I know what's coming next... :/" However I fully enjo ...more

Omg ! I just really love Jace so much. He is so Sarcastic ! He always knows how to make people laugh without even trying. As for Clary, I don't hate her but she annoys me at times. I recommend this book so much. There's so much revelations here. This book will definitely shock you, it's no ordinary book for me.It's so unique ! ...more
