I came to this book thinking myself reasonably well-versed in Pan lore after growing up with the Disney movie and Hook, and loving Finding Neverland. I was expecting to be thoroughly charmed, but... well, while there are definitely charming moments, it's a much darker story than I would have thought, and in many ways I found myself disappointed. Barrie's voice is erratic throughout, rather mirroring some of the more negative aspects of Peter's personality - especially near the end of the story,
