What Members Thought
I'm not arguing that J.K. is a skilled writer in general, but no book should take 400+ pages to actually become mildly interesting. The main characters of Strike and Robin were okay themselves, Robin was actually quite interesting, but I felt like all we did for the first half of the book was hear the same interview over and over again. I started this book after receiving several negative reviews of it from friends, so perhaps that left room for me to be impressed rather than disappointed. I found myself enjoying the read - the mystery itself was interesting (at least once all the clues were finally, and I do mean FINALLY, revealed), and I generally liked the tone of the story.
