This was an excellent installment in the Song of Ice and Fire series. The characters are all so interesting. Everything is so well-described that you can just about see it, hear it, taste it. The plot is beautifully complex, unfolding in ways expected and unexpected, but always following its own logic. And I don't think I've mentioned the humor before, but there's a good dose of humor in these books. Even when situations are grim and deadly serious, a bit of dark humor seeps through. That can help keep things rolling through the sad parts. It's easy to get wrapped up in this story and feel like 1127 pages is not in fact a long book, but instead hardly long enough! I can't wait to read the next two doorstoppers!

It's hard to say whether I liked this book or A Clash of Kings better. Both were very good. Here follow some general comments about the fate of characters in this story. It's very general, but I hid it just in case anyone is really avoiding all possible spoilers.

Un gran gran libro ( no solo por la extensión de sus páginas) un mundo medieval fántastico con una aventura epica sin igual que te atrapa desde los primeros capitulos, con mucho realismo pero tambien con algo de magia. El libro va ganando en tensión hasta llegar a las ultimas 200 páginas, se te "agarrotan " los musculos, pero no podes dejar el libro hasta saber que pasa. Como en los libros anteriores , algunas de las historias "cierran " momentaneamente, otras quedan totalmente abiertas al libro ...more

Wow... what to say?! I was very disapointed in many events that happened in this book. I gave it four stars b/c their were also many parts that made up for my disapointment.
