What can I say that hasn't been said before? This series just keeps getting better and better. The third instalment had more twists and turns than I could count, taking me from utter elation to despair and back again, sometimes within a few pages. Shelves: favorites

Amazing! I can't remember ever being this caught up in a story, I literally came home each day opening the book to read some more, savoring each page, trying to think ahead of the story, picking all the clues Martin left about some of the events to come. For me, reading the first three books has been the best time I've had with a book, I think they ARE classics. I haven't read yet books four and five, but do I really need to wait for the series to end to fully appreciate these three books? I don ...more

Though I hated Martin for what he did to so many characters, I must say this is an amazing book. This is the best of the three books in the series I have read so far...
The way he builds up the story and the amazing world he created is definitely as good as (maybe even better than) Tolkien's Middle Earth.
I cant wait to know not only the future but also the past of this tale, what really happened to Rhaegar and Lysenne though I can guess a little.... ...more

Another one down in the series and I cant wait to start the fouth. A lot more twists, however a lot of characters eliminated. I cant even seem to guess to who will be atop the Iron Throne finally, or if it will remain the coveted seat.
