So begins the game of thrones….winter is coming.

What I liked most about this book was that you really got the feeling you were reading something different and special. Martin doesn’t focus on the traditional epic battle between good and evil as many fantasy books do….there are clearly good and evil characters, situations, and dilemmas in the story but that is not the ENTIRE focus. In many ways you are left to make up your own mind about the situation and characters.

Wow what an amazing book this was! I really enjoyed every aspect of the story and the magnificent world that George RR Martin has created. Not to mention that I still have 4 more books to read in the series. I can't wait to start reading book 2! =) ...more

I finally finished reading this book, I've been slacking in my reading lately, and it felt like I started this book ages ago(probably did), but I really enjoyed this book, despite is length.
This book is very well written, the story is quite good, and the development of characters is so awesome (despite the huge quantity of the characters) :D seriously sometimes I couldn't keep with all the names.

I hope I can read faster the next book on this series because, WINTER IS COMING!

Wow...I was so not prepared for this! I only rated it 4 stars because some of the heavy themes (featuring younger characters) were squicky and a few parts were too long.

This book has so much to offer; with all the history inspired, fantasy and realities of life; the goodness and wickedness of people, it shows how nobility and honor does not always wins but rather the sinister reality of this world prevails. I like G R.R. Martin's writing, and how he develops the characters that you would love or hate. Definitely this book is not as predictable as anyone could be possibly expected; the cliche of villains and heroes and all that stuff. And this is not for all who ...more
