Hardy, har, har. What if that green-eyed girl isn’t even Kasey anymore? *gags* Before reading, I never really paid attention to the summary or to what the book was even about, so I never saw the ghost concept coming. Bad Girls Don't Die Alexis and her family who are living in a house with a bit of a past. Strange things start to happen in the house that Alexis can't explain and then her sister starts to act really strange.

Alexis is not a popular person, she hangs out with the doom squad. When Carter wants to hang out with her she is surprised because he is popular. It definitely puts her on the bad list with Pepper who is popular and likes Carter. Pepper accuses Alexis's sister of braking her sisters arm but Bad Girls Don't Die Alexis and her family who are living in a house with a bit of a past. Strange things start to happen in the house that Alexis can't explain and then her sister starts to act really strange.

Alexis is not a popular person, she hangs out with the doom squad. When Carter wants to hang out with her she is surprised because he is popular. It definitely puts her on the bad list with Pepper who is popular and likes Carter. Pepper accuses Alexis's sister of braking her sisters arm but Alexis doesn't believe it becasue Kasey has always been so nice and kind of shy.

Then Alexis finds Kasey in the basement and she wants Alexis to tell her a story and the story just sort of comes right out of Alexis as if it's part of the house and wants it to be told. It kind of freaks her out a little but she ignores it, but then not to long after that her sister starts acting strange. Some times her blue eyes are green. She gets a ton that is not her sisters and the only person who will believe her is Megan, another popular cheerleader, who isn't even her friend.

Bad Girls Don't Die has some pretty creepy moments to it and perfect for a Halloween read. Depending on your scare level it may or may not scare you. I don't get scared very often any more (unless I watch movies like The Conjuring...lol). So to me it wasn't scary but like I said there was some creepy moments.

Alexis is a decent character but I can't say that I loved her or anything. She does step it up a little when she figures out what is going on with her sister, but I just don't feel like I really connected with her. Teenage girls might connect more with her than I did as an adult.

I really liked Carter and how he wasn't afraid to be friends with her when nobody else but the doom squad really seemed to care. It had a Pretty and Pink vibe to it but with out the Duckie...lol.

If you are into YA paranormal/horror novels then I think you will enjoy this one. I have the other two on my audio list to get to and I can't wait to see what kind of trouble is in store for Alexis and Kasey. ...more

I really enjoyed this book! I felt like the main character was a bit unique for the genre. One thing I appreciated is she didn't have a best friend. That's such a staple of YA. Maybe she's a loner, maybe she only has a best friend, but she has one. And, well, not all of us do! (Or did as a teenager.)

And it had a realistic relationship between sisters! I love seeing that. Girls who are different, who fight (sometimes over very silly things), but are there for each other at the end of the day.

Also, it does one of my very favorite things in fiction: It had the character make stereotypical assumptions about characters and then challenges them. Heck, even with Pepper, I think we saw she was more than what you saw on the surface. And that's something I want to see more of, especially in YA, characters who are allowed to be more than cliches.

And this was an interesting kind of supernatural YA because it's one of those that you feel like could happen in real life. Ha, I guess I should clarify that I don't believe in this stuff, BUT it felt more like real life than books with vampires and werewolves and such. It's not a secret world. It's just something that happened to one family.

Flaws in the book? Well, it was pretty clear to me what was really going on near the end, what the real story of the house was. It wasn't egregious, but I thought the characters should've looked beyond the first explanation.

I didn't always quite believe in the main character being as "bad" as presented, but then, I think we got hints that some of that was more her own view of herself than anyone else's.

And I'm not sure which category this fits in, but: the love interest. I liked him and (again) I believed in it more than in most love stories, but it also felt a bit superfluous. I'm not sure how to "fix" that. I don't think I'd want him to be more involved in the main story (loved seeing the girls work together to figure it out!), but maybe a little more page time given to his arc? There's a lot going on, so I get why he didn't have more time, but I think it would've made it work a little better for me.

Anyway! Overall, really enjoyable book. I recommend it! ...more
