I fell in love with this book!!! The characters are flawed, the plot twists and turns, and the story is written with a beautiful fluidity. I got a strong Gossip Girl/Cruel Intentions feel from this one, and I really dug that. Phoenix grabbed me from the very beginning, and I grew to love Ivy as the story unfolded. Then just when I thought I had it all figured out, BL turned me upside down again. Such an amazing book! I highly recommend it!

Sometimes you just can't help but judge a book by it's cover. I mean, THIS cover is just so unique and gorgeous and refreshing all at the same time. Guess what, so is this story!

BL Berry blew me away with this exceptional tale of first love and finding yourself. How this is a debut, I have no idea...BL must have been born to write...maybe even conceived to write lol.

I adored Ivy and her hilarious snarkiness. Flaws and all I loved everything about her. And Phoenix, oh Phoenix. This boy could do

Wowza! This book is one of those rare book gems that just comes out of nowhere, and wham! It hits you right in the heart.

Ivy and Phoenix have a chance meeting at a random party, at Ivy's school, and they are instantly drawn to each other. They go out on one stellar date, but have to go their seperate ways. Ivy heads back home to her family in Chicago to be help prepare for her extremely vapid sister's wedding, and Phoenix has to head back to St. Louis to start a new job.

4.5 Stars - I loved Ivy & Rachel's friendship. Ivy's attitude was amazing considering her family! Hated Gen & Ivy's Mom ~ how can people be so mean?? Swooned over Phoenix. Wanted to smack Sully & Max. Had very mixed feelings about dad. Let's just say I knew who Sully was, but what he did surprised the heck outta me ~ I wasn't expecting that and I love a twist. I was very happy with the ending until I got to the epilogue...2015 is too far away!!!

I definitely recommend this book.

Good NA debut by BL Berry. Ivy is somewhat adrift in her life. Her family is less than supportive of her decisions or approving of her as a person but Ivy still has to comply with their demands. She hasn't had much luck with her love life either, finding someone she feels connected and committed to. Ivy is the sort of person who is independent, logical and not easily trusting. When she meets Phoenix, they have an immediate connection, but the logistics of them being friends or even more is not w ...more
