Danielle Allen, were you once a contestant on The Bachelor??? This author did an amazing job of making you feel like you're getting an up close and personal experience, behind the scenes of one of America's most notorious reality dating shows. From the mix of contestants, to the scripted scenarios, the rules, the cheesy sneaky host and the drool worthy bachelor, The One had it all.

Where do I begin? I absolutely LOVED this book. This is my first Danielle Allen book and I must say I'm a fan! This book had everything I look for when reading.

I loved this book. How many times did I watch a reality show and think who in their right mind would sign up to do this? Danielle Allen takes us behind the scene of a dating show and makes us ponder the question, what if there was some truth to it? Could you actually find love at something like this?

This is my first read by Danielle Allen and it was great! I am not a huge fan of reality tv at all. After reading The One I actually have a different perspective on it now. The One is such a unique and different book! I'm not a fan of reality tv dating shows, but reading about a fictious one was a lot of fun. If I didn't know better I would have thought Danielle Allen had been on one, taking copious amounts of notes for when the show ended so she could start writing this book!

Zoe is the perfect mix of strong and vulnerable. That can be a hard line to straddle with female characters but Ms. Allen does a great job of it with Zoe. She's at a bit of a crossroads in her

Zoe is the perfect mix of strong and vulnerable. That can be a hard line to straddle with female characters but Ms. Allen does a great job of it with Zoe. She's at a bit of a crossroads in her life, when it comes to her career, so she accepts the challenge to be on The One. I'd like to think I'd have been as strong as Zoe was, in some of the decisions she made on the show, but I'm not sure if I would have been! Faced with the over-the-top craziness that I can just imagine really happens on a dating show, Zoe is somehow able to stay true to herself and not get caught up in the cattiness.

And then there's Julian. As other reviewers may have mentioned, this man is utterly swoony! He's mega-talented, sweet as can be, and good-looking to boot! He's sure of himself without being cocky, holds true to his convictions, and he knows how to play the game, without playing a game. While I don't think I really believe in love at first sight, I can't say I blame Zoe for falling for this man as easily as she did!

I really enjoyed the journey Zoe went through during her weeks on the show. It was entertaining to "watch" the side characters live up to their stereotypes while on the show, and then see the "real" person at the end. I have to wonder if that's how it is on an actual dating show. I"m sure a lot of it is acting, but I have to imagine some of those characters are the same on the show and in real life!

The ending to The One was perfect! I wasn't sure how everything would play out, but I shouldn't have been worried- I knew Julian wouldn't let me down! I'm looking forward to diving into After the One and seeing if Julian and Zoe's connection can hold up off camera!
