I have 2 words for you...Grown-up Ever. Or would that be 3 words? 2 1/2 words? Oh who freaking cares how many words there are, just pay attention to what the words say... GROWN.UP.EVER. Holy freaking swoony grown-up Ever.

Ever Over After is complete perfection! This book is everything I wanted, and everything I didn't know I wanted, for the conclusion to Low and Ever's love story. (I'm so sad writing those words, I don't want this to be over!)

Perfect conclusion to an amazing duet!

Now that we know what makes Marlo tick, and feel the hurt she carries around each day under her snarky remarks, I was so happy to see her story come full circle. Ever's redemption and quest to take back the only girl he ever loved was heartbreaking and so real. You felt every bit of his anguish and Marlo's fear.

What an amazing continuation of Ever and Low’s story, and it couldn’t have been any better! It’s a must that you read Low Over High before starting this book because this book picks up right where book one ended.

Ever and Low (or Marlo as she wants to be called now) are leading their separate lives, but it seems their hearts and minds have always thought of the other. Separated by years and now that Ever has found Low, he is determined not to let her get away this time. It’s a must that you read Low Over High before starting this book because this book picks up right where book one ended.

Ever and Low (or Marlo as she wants to be called now) are leading their separate lives, but it seems their hearts and minds have always thought of the other. Separated by years and now that Ever has found Low, he is determined not to let her get away this time. Even though we know why she left town with more than a broken heart, Ever never knew what happened to her.

Forcing her to face him and learn to trust him is definitely more than he bargained for. Low is not the girl he remembers. She is not sweet and innocent, but has a hard shell surrounding her heart. She refuses to let anyone into her heart and soul again.

But, never say never because Ever doesn’t back down and I LOVED him for that! He is determined to get back into her life and be the man he knows he should have been all those years ago. I never could have suspected what poor Ever had been through. I know losing his twin, Easton, shattered him but he really hit rock bottom with his actions. His life was in shambles, and he is determined to make Low see he is a completely different man.

“I want to focus on the years we have ahead of us instead of the ones we missed. I need to let the pain go…I think I already have.” - Ever

Like I said, with Ever’s persistence and good old Jeb to help things along, Low finally starts to soften her heart and wants to be with him. However, her secret she has kept from him all these years comes out, and Ever is so shocked that my heart just broke for him. Ever faces Low’s past head on and that was a surprise I wasn’t expecting at all and it was perfect! It seems that scum do get what they deserve after all.

JA DeRouen’s duet is one that will make you want to keep reading, has a beautiful love story, but a lot of heartbreak. The first book drew me in and I could hardly wait to get my hands on the conclusion of their story. Ever and Low may have been separated by circumstance, but their ending was well worth the heartache after reading this 5 star book!

Word of caution - to get the full impact of this book, you really need to back story that is book 1 in the duet, Low Over High. This can be read as a stand alone, but wouldn't have the emotional impact that comes from reading it as a set.

That said-I would have to call this more of an emotional read vs traditional romance read. Ms. deRouen takes Marlo, a secondary character throughout the series, and forces her really face a pivotal moment from her past and truly deal with the results.

4.5 Beautiful Stars!

This author has a way of delivering the Good, the Bad and the downright Ugly, but always makes you feel whole again. This book has its emotional highs and lows ~ there were parts I was sobbing and parts where I was outright laughing.

I absolutely loved the way Marlo and Ever left little notes for each other - these only made this book so much better :)

Every story needs a "Jeb", but now I feel I need Jeb's story.......

I could not wait to get my hands on Ever Over After. I've always been a fan of This authors work but Marlo is hands down my favorite character. I feel that this book was a perfect ending to Marlo and Ever's story. I devoured this book in one sitting, it's been months since I've been so engrossed by a story that I couldn't put it down. There isn't much I can say without spoiling things from the first book, but this was an amazing read! I read it in less than 24 hours. It was suspenseful, heartbreaking, healing, funny, and heartwarming all in different ways. I really love that Marlo and Ever have started to heal and are ready to move on from their painful pasts and the events that tore them apart.
