This book blew me away! Such angst, such loyalty, such HEART! It kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page, and I’m still thinking about it a week later. What a great read! Amazing job - I highly recommend this book!

Believe--fact as f___ there are a few things you need to be prepared to believe after reading this book.

1. You will fully understand the meaning of the word Sacrifice.
2. Your heart will race, hoping and praying for the well being of Julia, Everleigh and Crew.
3. You will get sCREWed by falling in love with Crew Gentry.

Oh wow this was a well written and beautiful read. I read it in one sitting as I could not put it down.

Two years after Julia's husband Gage dies she's still struggling to move on. Her first love Crew, Gages brother, tries to help but she doesn't want that. The pain they both feel is raw and the author portrays it beautifully.

I've read plenty of stories about second chances. This author took a common storyline and turned it into a page turning, gripping and beautiful read.

So real and raw and gritty! I ran through such a gamut of emotions while reading Sacrifice, I didn't know what I'd be feeling from one page to the next...and I adored every minute of it, even the ones when I was crying. To be honest, I was scared going into this book- I didn't want to be broken-hearted, I didn't want to ugly cry, I didn't want the stomachache and puffy eyes. But I am so glad I didn't listen to myself and jumped on the chance to join the readalong for this book...it's definitely cemented a place in my all-time favorites.

Crew is the ultimate alpha male, I love him, plain and simple. He's strong, protective, determined, loving, and fierce...he'll do whatever it takes, he'll do anything he needs to, to take care of his family. Julia is such an incredibly strong female character, I could only hope to have the strength she has if I ever had to go through even a bit of what she does. Her life was not an easy one, from her childhood, to losing her husband, to the devastating news she's dealt with next. But she handles it all with such poise, even as she's falling apart inside.

Sacrifice is an extraordinary tale of love- love between a parent and a child, love of family, love that's been given a second chance. It's an incredible journey that will make you think of all that you'd be willing to sacrifice, if something life changing was thrown your way. This book is stunning, it's remarkable, it's flat-out amazing. Sometimes you come across a book, not knowing what an impact it will have on you. You think, oh this sounds like a good one, only to read it and realize it was so much more than you could have even imagine. Sacrifice was that book for me.

First, I need to say that the only time I rate a book 5 stars is if I read it two or more times. That said, I have a feeling this book's rating will change to 5 stars in the next year.

Sacrifice is one of the rarest of rare in that it made me cry. I just don't know if there are enough words in the English language to describe the amount of feels this book gave me. I had Sacrifice on my TBR for a long time now, and it was one of those books that just getting pushed to the back burner. Man was I an idiot!! This is one of those special books that I wish I could go back and read for the first time all over again.

Very aptly titled book. Crew Gentry is living in his own self-imposed purgatory. His glory days are behind him and he doesn't have much to show for it. All of his mistakes have caught up to him and his life is empty at the moment. He risked everything and everyone important to him and now he has nothing. In the meantime, he visits his brother's widow and first love, Julia, and his niece, Ever, to make sure they are well cared for.

Julia is barely scraping by with 2 jobs as a single mother. She lives paycheck to paycheck and can't catch a break with the bills. I could feel Julia's desolation, but she's also very determined and independent. She's used to Crew disappointing her from past experience so she isn't very welcoming of his presence or efforts to assist her with the bills or simple chores. She also thinks Crew is responsible for putting her in the position she is in now.

Both Crew and Julia are hurt and it's heartbreaking. Part of me wanted to be mad at Crew for his screw ups because he was so ego centric and hedonistic. However, he isn't entirely unaware of that fact and makes every effort to redeem himself once a new threat to Julia's fragile life balance makes an appearance. It's the kind of threat that could send Julia down into the deep depths of darkness, as well as Crew, and Julia and Ever are Crew's only remaining immediate family, aside from his good friend and distant cousin Will.

Because the book paints such a stark and bleak picture of their circumstances, it seemed overly optimistic to hope that anything would go right, never mind everything. But hope, and a lot of hard work, is the only thing pushing Crew forward to make things right, even if means giving up every last bit of himself to see it happen. He will finally lay all of his cards on the table for the people he loves, something he should have done a long time ago and didn't and eventually paid the price. There's a lot of feels with this story that pretty much sends the reader into a tailspin up until the very end. There are absolutely no guarantees that everyone will come out unscathed, but in the process, Julia and Crew do progress well as characters. They have no one to lean on besides each other and in the process, they recapture a part of themselves that they haven't shared in years. I enjoyed the dialogue between Crew and Will, too. Sacrifice is the story of loss, redemption, forgiveness, second chances, hope and of course sacrifice. Great story!

I'm late to the party with my review seeing as how I read this gem of a book before it was released...but can I just say OMG!! Adriana kicked major butt with this book. This is the type of story that will stick with you for the rest of your life. You'll cry tears of sadness and joy! One of the best reads of 2015, Sacrifice had me hooked from the very first page and digging my fingertips into my Kindle until the very last. An emotional, heart pounding journey showcasing pure strength and undying love.

Sacrifice is one of those books that will leave you happy and sad, but the title fits this book perfectly. Ever had dealt with the loss of her husband and Crew was the only one who understood her pain since Gage was his brother. She was his first love and he let it all slip away because he wanted to be famous.

This was an amazing story of strength and second chances. The characters were well-written, you felt their emotions and could not help but fall in love with them all. You could not help but to want to snatch up Ever and just hug her forever, you want to jump in help Julia and Crew, you just wanna eat him up. Will, Sal and Macie all take up a special place in your heart. But Hunter, well let's just say you want to hurt the man.

Wow! What an emotional ride. This book made me feel so many different emotions. I felt sadness for the things that Julia and Ever went through. My heart just broke for them both. I can't even begin to imagine what, as a mother, it would feel like to go through something so scary and painful. I rooted for Julia, Everleigh, and Crew throughout the book and am so happy with how things turned out.

Loved this book! It is, by far, my favourite book that I’ve read in 2017.

‘Sacrifice’ is the first book I’ve read, written by Adriana Locke—I’m so glad I did! It was well written and the story was intriguing from beginning to end. I was on an emotional roller coaster while reading ‘Sacrifice’—There were times I had to stop reading, to pull myself together.

I would definitely recommend this book—It’s FANTASTIC!! I can’t wait to read another book written by Adriana Locke.
