Dearest Jane,
I should dare not declare my admiration, nay love, for one so unattainable, so plainly above myself in both moral stature and strength of character as you, but my soul denies me the option, I must! From your tender, youthful, lonesome years you spoke to me (I am your confidant - I am 'reader'), and I only wish my sympathies and care could reach you then, when those that sheltered with you tormented and neglected you, young delicate flower. I'm so glad I got back to Jane Eyre (thanks, book club!) and finished it. She's brilliant. She's unexpectedly forward-thinking and feminist (and another language aficionado!)

What?
Just when i thought it was too long it took a few turns and I can't believe how it ended. So much description can easily be skimmed. Worth the read. ...more
