Five stars for the ideas. Three stars for the character development.
First of all, this book is better described as a collection of three novellas: Fiat Homo ("Let There Be Man") set in the 26th century, Fiat Lux ("Let There Be Light") set in 3174, and Fiat Voluntas Tua ("Let Thy Will Be Done") set in 3781.
