This was a tough book to get through, not due to its length but by its brutality. Just when I think I have read intense violence I get sat down by Cormac McCarthy and shown true savagery. This was a very bleak story, not a plot heavy story, just a series of violent journeys for a group of terrible people. I can't tell if I enjoyed this book, I won't forget some of the violent scenes that were described. I had been warned it was a rough novel and not for the faint of heart.
