Shelves: favorites, 100-in-2013

I know that I am VERY far behind the hype for this book. People have been recommending it to me forever now, and I just got around to checking it out this year. In fact I didn’t finish it very long ago in fact.

I read this one as an audiobook. I didn't really love it, but the plot was exciting, I guess. I did not guess the twists, so credit for that. But I just found the narrators kind of annoying and didn't believe many things that they did. Overall, points for imagination but strongly lacking in character development and realism. ...more

2023 Edit: Created an adaptations shelf to comment on books that are adapted or tie-in to other media. I think I saw the movie first in this case, and it holds up extremely well against the book. Not sure this is a case where a person needs to experience both, but I'd definitely recommend either one ...more
