I don't subscribe to Hemingway's romanticised version of the hunter/fisher as the most noble of beings. Found the whole thing very self-indulgent, and a bit pompous. Also, didn't enjoy the sharks being so villainous! ...more

My first Hemingway book, the book is a slow burn, once you make it past the middle act, it gets really good.
