Still not sure what is ultimate point in writing this was. The character of Isserley was compelling enough to jettison me through the book in three days so regardless of the message it was an interesting and enjoyable read.

This is quite possibly the strangest experience I've ever years. At first, I really wasn't sure how I felt about this. I didn't find it boring and it wasn't a struggle to get through. I thought the writing was poetic and beautiful, but I felt no really connection to the story at all. I felt nothing for the situations and characters. I didn't care about Isserley. A. 4.5 A surprisingly feminist book! Isserley is a character stuck in a situation and a life she does not want to participate in, which is bizarre by her culture’s standards. Melancholy and emotional.
