I think this a great book for kids who are interested in mysteries. It was quirky and fun in areas. I found myself picturing the movie Clue. I'm not sure if I just wasn't interested or not invested with all the characters. For me mysteries have got to pack a big WTF?!? I did not get that with this one.

Huh. Another book I've had to go back to the beginning and re-read to try to figure out.
It's intriguing but it takes a fairly bleak view of humanity. The characters don't have many dimensions and judge each other constantly, so I wasn't able to identify with or root for anyone. Not a story to read for warmth and empathy, but one to read analytically, from a distance. It has its merits, of course, but won't be changing my life. ...more
