Joshua "Hallowed" Christ does his greatest hits and some magic realism with his sidekick Levi who is called Biff.

Lamb had me laughing. It is Christopher Moore's very irreverent take on the early years of Jesus as told through his best friend Biff, aka - Levi. A very entertaining book, but overall I would say it's best taken in small doses. After awhile it was too much of - oh look how clever I am. That said, I would definitely recommend the book.

This is an incredibly clever book. There was obviously a lot of research done here and parts made me genuinely laugh. A story of faith, friendship and adventure and if you look at it like that it's great. I probably should've paid more attention to the bible teachings of my youth because I have a feeling that much of this went whoosh over my head. Some of the jokes were forced, some of the scenes went on a bit too long. I would recommend this but only if you have a sense of humor about religion.

A retelling of the story of Jesus Christ, in the perspective of his best friend growing up (who is conveniently never mentioned in the Gospels), all in modern day language. It made me laugh quite a bit, particularly for some of the meta references and nods to the Bible. A little slow in the middle, but worth sticking to.
