Wow, this was a long book. A LONG book. I was amazed to find out that it's actually the first in a series because the book spans the whole Arthurian legend. It's great that it's from the perspective of the women.

The main character is Morgaine, who is known as Morgan Le Fay or Morgan of the Fairies. We also hear from Gwynevere who is a very Christian woman married to King Arthur, and Morgause the aunt of Morgan and Arthur.
