I should have liked this book more. It has so many elements that I love: the language is poetic, the descriptions depict the characters and settings so clearly and with such dimension that they rise off the page to embody and enact the plot as I read.

A. I feel like I must be missing something because there’s a lot of great reviews for this book, but I did not care for it. I felt that the story jumped around too much. It seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary sexualization of the children in this book; “...when we came out of our mother’s lovely cunt...” “...the bumps that would soon turn into beautiful breasts...”. Why?
