I should have liked this book more. It has so many elements that I love: the language is poetic, the descriptions depict the characters and settings so clearly and with such dimension that they rise off the page to embody and enact the plot as I read.

I got this book at Barnes and Noble from the employee recommendations shelf. I had high hopes, but they weren't really met. The writing style and language is absolutely gorgeous and brilliant... but the story line leaves something to be desired and even bored me a little. I was also somewhat confused by the jumps backward and forward in time, and the random Capitalizations of Words and Phrases. Didn't ever figure it out. I've seen 5 star reviews of the book, though, so maybe its just not MY cup
