This started off really strong, but at some point I lost ahold of the plot and nothing really came together in the end with it for me. There are interesting ideas to this world, but I never really got a sense of it's "rules", so it felt like anything could happen at any time. I think that would have been fine if I was really into the writing or the characters or something, but I was never truly invested.

This started out interesting and intriguing. It's a unique blend of sci-fi, fantasy and ecology. I did find myself often asking "what is that?" It's creepy, weird and a little unsettling. I loved this book quite a bit. It seemed like everyone in my life was recommending this to me and I finally picked it up from the library to read.
It is weird and unnerving, quickly paced but not overwhelmingly so, and the main character was very intriguing and interesting.
I will be happily picking up the rest of the series soon!

I'm left with a strong desire to spoil the rest of the series. Spoil or read, that is the question.
