I really loved this book. It was a slow burn, but taking it slow was part of the enjoyment. The character building was perfect, there were perspectives of all the crew at just the right times. I loved each of those quirky characters by the end of the book. The construction of the world was not to too much, not too little... just right, and that is coming from a person who really likes good world building. I cried at the end. I'm really glad people are writing more sf w interesting social premises. I really really appreciated a galactic federation in which humans are Kinda Wimpy. The world-building was good. I cared a lot about all of the characters. I tried so hard but I just couldn't get into it. 200 pages in and so little had happened and even when stuff started to happen I wasn't super interested. I can kind of see why people like this.
