I'm so glad I reread this book. Anderson did a really great job for her first novel. She is a real talent. She expresses how people with constant pain really think; the sarcasm and dark humor are incredible. I wonder sometimes if she's gone through some of the things that happen in her books.

I really connected with the character of Melinda, which was pivotal to how impactful the story was. Some readers had a hard time with the ending and thought it was too tidy and wrapped up. I thought it was well-done and that it was made clear that Melinda wasn't ever going to be done dealing with what had happened to her, she had just come to a place where she found her voice.
